Hi! I just had a couple questions about the loaf which looks FANTASTIC by the way... your copy says 1/4 block but the copy at Holler's site says 1/2 block... and how much does 1/4 block weigh? We get two sizes around me... 250g and 454g, so I don't want to use 2x or 1/2 what's needed!

Thanks v. much, take care!!

Oh, just remembered - I add a cup of raisins (Sunmaid type) or sultanas, also 1 tsp of vanilla to the mixture of these 'grubs'.

Extremely morish! :^)

I have always known your 'grubs' as 'bumble bees'! My Mum always used to make these when we were young and fill up the oak biscuit barrel which sat on the radio in the living room. I now make these as a treat for my son (now 23). I use a combination of wine and malt biscuits crushed.
I wonder whatever happened to that biscuit barrel. Great memories.
