If you liked Middlesex (which you obviously did!), you might also like Bright Shiny Morning by James Frey… It has a similar kind of dislocating narrative and multiple stories.

My recommendation – Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides. Look it up on Amazon. It’s an amazing book – I’ve never read anything like it, and I’m going to feel pretty bereft when I finish it!

Another one-off, and totally appropriate for summer is Sunset Over Chocolate Mountains by Susan Elderkin.

Others: Sputnik Sweetheart by Haruki Marukami; As Far as You Can Go, by Lesley Glaister; Julius Winsome by Gerard Donovan.

Hope those keep you going, in addition to those already on your very long list!
