Hi again Wendy

If you liked Middlesex (which you obviously did!), you might also like Bright Shiny Morning by James Frey... It has a similar kind of dislocating narrative and multiple stories.

Looking forward to reading what you think of other books you've had recommended to you (not by me), too!

Little Miss Moi - I love "North and South" - haven't read it in some time actually...

Lee - You're very welcome. :)

Aforkfullofspaghetti - I've read Middlesex (superb) and everything by Murakami (one of my favourite authors). Sounds like we have similar tastes so shall definitely check out the others!

Pia - Many thanks for the recommendations. "a.m.a.z.i.n.g." is high praise indeed! Shall keep these in mind for later in the summer. :)

As you've already had so many I will just add one (for more, see my favourite book list on the blog profile page:) - PopCo by Scarlett Thomas. My latest finsihed read, it was a.m.a.z.i.n.g!! Even better than The End of Mr Y (and that say a lot!)

Sorry Wendy - not long been back from hols, so trying to get back on track with everything.

My recommendation - Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides. Look it up on Amazon. It's an amazing book - I've never read anything like it, and I'm going to feel pretty bereft when I finish it!

Another one-off, and totally appropriate for summer is Sunset Over Chocolate Mountains by Susan Elderkin.

Others: Sputnik Sweetheart by Haruki Marukami; As Far as You Can Go, by Lesley Glaister; Julius Winsome by Gerard Donovan.

Hope those keep you going, in addition to those already on your very long list!

Dear Wendy. I thought of another book that you might like to (re)read if you're into classics - North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell. I really enjoy it every time I pick it up. And then I go watch the miniseries and according to Mr Moi I have a goofy soppy look on my face the whole time.
