D is back from his camping trip in Sutherland (northern Highlands of Scotland). He and the kids had such an amazing time I just had to share some of their photos with you.

I really do believe they had a fantastic time 😀
have a good evening

Gorgeous! Sigh. One day I hope to be able to finally go hiking in Scotland – haven’t found the right company yet though – but I’ll definitely skip the camping part and take day tour hikes…:)
Love the animal photos! Thanks for sharing the photos.
That tent shot is amazing.
Makes me want to pop on a plane immediatley.
Except for the snake. He’s cute, but I’d rather not sleep anywhere near him…
looks amazing and cold – i would love to take the baby hairy coo home – am curious about what they were cooking – and the big question is – did they get absolutely soaked while you sat indoors and ate icecream?
Wendy what beautiful photos and memories for them all!!! I just love Highland cattle and the baby photo is gorgeous!!!! Didn’t care for the snake though. 🙂
These photos prove exactly why I love the Highlands of Scotland. Beautiful.
Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. How lucky to be camping in such scenery!
Silvia – They did indeed. 🙂
Pia – Let us know next time you’re in Scotland and we’ll take you on a hike.
Nora – Hello stranger! Great to see you back.
Lucy – The tent shot was my favourite too. Not keen on snakes but very impressed they saw one. Adders are very shy.
Johanna – They were making apple crumble. Stewed apples and crushed ginger nut biscuits. And the night I ate the ice-cream was a difficult one for them. They’d been planting trees in the rain all afternoon and had to make dinner in the wet before getting dry. 😦
Pat – Highland cows are great, aren’t they?
Jules – They really are. Feel so lucky to live here.
Leslie – 🙂
Stunning photos – can’t decide which I like best. The view from the tent, possibly. And the stags are wonderful.
I have to confess that I’m not the best of campers – I hate the fact that if you get wet, it is so very difficult to get dry again!
those are stunning photos Wendy – I second Lucy – the tent shot is amazing.
Antonia – My favourite is the one from the tent. It looks so dramatic!
Helen – Totally agree. 🙂
Wonderful photos! I found your blog through my google reader, and my DH’s family is originally from Scotland and where your family was camping looks like some areas we hiked through. I love your blog!
