Folk often look at me in horror when I mention that I am up at 6am each weekday morning to take Marco for a good walk before I go to work.
But if they could see how gorgeous the field near our home looks in the morning sun and if they knew how much fun it was to see my pup drenched in dew and wild eyed from chasing the sky-larks at the end of it all, they’d understand.
It’s the perfect way to start a day.
It looks so idyllic! But still, 6 – not nice, EVER.
I’m up at 5:30 everyday except weekends, summer and winter. It is a lovely time of day. Unfortunately the view at my place isn’t as lovely. And I don’t have a dog so it’s lovely to see yours!
I wish I could get myself out of bed at that time every morning.
Oh yes, lovely looking, but I’d have to agree with Em above, the hour, not nice ever. i wouldn’t mind this in the evening though, now we’re talking perfectness:)
tis cooler then too. my dog only wants to walk in the morning or eveing at the moment. just too darn hot in london town for him. i LOVE it
Isnt it great, I do a similar walk, at a similar time, with Rufus and he goes daft looking for the rabbits that disappear in a second! x
I’m much the same. Everything is peaceful and seemingly more beautiful at that time of day. An entirely different world!
Cheers,
*Heather*
I do that too! Usually get up between 5:30 and 6:00 to walk with the dog. It is hands down the best, freshest, gently sunny, most satisfying time of day. Wouldn’t miss it for the world. 🙂
You’re all freaks- except you girls, Pia and Sylvie.
Looks lovely! If I had somewhere as beautiful to walk, I’d be doing the same as you. 🙂
I think 6am is one of the lovliest hours of the day – during the summer only!
What are those yellow flowers?
Em – You don’t know what you’re missing! 🙂
Heather – I am pretty lucky with the view and the pooch!
Sylvie – I’ve always been an early-ish riser but Marco has turned me into a crack-of-dawn person.
Pia – It’s lovely in the evening too (though we usually go to the woods then) but not quite as magical as the morning.
Kelsie – It was toasty here too last week. 27 oC no less! Nice for a few days but I do prefer the cooler weather as does Marco.
Gen – It really is. 🙂
Heather – And there’s heaps of birds and other animals around too. Isn’t it lovely?
Mary – Glad it’s not just me. 🙂
Em – Lol!
Cherie – I am lucky to have that on my doorstep, I know.
Little Miss Moi – Yeah, it is less pleasant in January, must say…
Audrey – They are buttercups so far as I know… Shall check that though.
Paradise doesn’t own a watch. Would love to bum the fields and wetlands with pup at any hour.
While I am not a morning person by nature, your description and photographs leave me envious of your early morning walks.
Enjoy!

Oh gorgeous dog & walk. So jealous, I get up at 6am every morning to commute for two hours to horrible London. You are definitely doing something right
I get up at 3 and the dogs and myself go for a walk at 4am.
